At Non Linear Plot, the prospect of discovering talented writers who share our passion for cinema always excites us. Below are the broad guidelines we generally apply on content:

  • The content could be in the form of reviews, or feature pieces like essays and lists.
  • The content should be original and not be published elsewhere (on the internet or print media). It goes without saying that plagiarism has no place here either.
  • The length of your write-up doesn’t matter. Most of our write-ups average around 700 words, but we trust you to apply your judgement on this and decide wisely. Your article will go through an editing process at our end as well, though we’ll ensure any revisions deemed necessary wouldn’t defeat the spirit of the write-up.
  • At the moment, we accept write-ups only in English. However, the topic of your write-up could be based on films/shows in any language (Indian or foreign).
  • We expect your write-up to be grammatically and factually accurate, but within that boundary we always encourage creativity, humour and novelty.

If you think you would be a great addition to Non Linear Plot’s team of writers, please send us a sample test article (a film related topic of your choice) to the ID mentioned below. If you have already had articles published before, you could just send us those links instead and we’ll read through to understand your writing style. Once we complete our assessment, we will revert back to you with our decision and next steps.
Happy writing!
